Tom Smith is a palaeobiologist working with Erin Saupe on spatially explicit methods of evolutionary rate estimation. Previously, he completed a PhD with Philip Donoghue focussed on distinguishing biases from genuine evolutionary phenomena in analyses of morphological disparity.
