Fellowships

To maximise the success of your fellowship at Oxford, the Palaeobiology Group will provide support in addition to that provided by your host (either the Department of Earth Sciences or the Museum of Natural History).

• Mentorship: All fellows will be provided with a dedicated mentor. In addition, the fellows will be part of our collegiate group with weekly meet-ups providing the opportunity for valuable peer-to-peer mentorship.
• Grants: Some of the fellowships allow fellows to apply for additional external research funding, which we encourage.
• Pilot funding support: Fellows will have access to pilot funds, e.g., via competitive application to the University's John Fell OUP Fund, with which to develop research ideas.
• Graduate students: Fellows holding long-term fellowships, e.g., , ERC, NERC IRF, Royal Society URF, and UKRI FLF, are encouraged to supervise graduate students. One way to fund students is through our NERC Environmental Research Doctoral Training Partnership.

Expressions of interest due: June 30th annually

In order to effectively support applications, we require those interested in applying for an independent fellowship to contact one of our faculty members by June 30th for applications in the following academic year:
